With the president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Biodun Ogunyemi stating earlier that ASUU is ready to resume academic activities if the government is ready to play their part and the federal government playing their part by accepting ASUU payment platform which is currently undergoing the integrity test, there is a great tendency that the ongoing strike will come to an end soon leading to universities resumption. This is because the integrity test is being handled by NITDA.

The University Transparency and Accountability Solutions (UTAS) has to pass through three phases while undergoing the integrity test handled by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) before being activated by the federal government who think it's high time students return back to school as the EndSars protest was occasioned by students staying at home for a long period of time.

ASUU was expected to put an end to the ongoing strike and mandate lecturers to resume lectures in their various universities on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 but was hindered because of the test run of their payroll platform but with the look of things, the federal government's desire to return students back to their various universities to prevent future protests is an affirmation that the ASUU payment platform will be accepted leading to the calling off of the overdue strike and students returning back to school early or late November.
