School Reopening: FG Reviews August as Resumption Date For Final Year, SSCE And Primary Six Students
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba,has revealed that schools will resume in the country after the ban on interstate movement will be lifted on July 1st,2020.

The federal government has approved the resumption of schools across the country
Boss Mustapha, the PTF chairman, made this known on Monday, June 29 - Mustapha, however, said that daycare centres remain closed, Mustapha, however, said that the students expected to resume are in Primary 6 who are to write the Common Entrance Examination; Junior Secondary School 3 students and Senior Secondary School 3 students.
Mustapha said: “I am pleased to inform you that Mr.President has carefully considered the 5th Interim Report of the PTF and has accordingly approved that safe re-opening of schools to allow students in graduating classes resume in-person in preparation for examinations.
“Maintaining the current phase of the national response, for another four weeks in line with modifications to be expatiated by the National Coordinator.
In conclusion, the federal government has disclosed that schools will resume after Maintaining the current phase of the national response, for another four weeks on this not, no actual date for schools resumption in Nigeria but according to the new phase of lockdown and observation by PTF which began on 30th June, 2020 and end on 27th of July 2020 following the easing of interstate movement.
With all indications, schools resumption date in Nigeria should take effect in the month of August 2020 but note that there's no exact date yet but all final year students should be expected to resume school in the month of August 2020.
According to the federal government, the categories of students to resume first are Primary 6 who are to write the Common Entrance Examination; Junior Secondary School 3 students and Senior Secondary School 3 students.
Now the big question is what about the final year students in the tertiary institution? When will they resume? Well FG seemed to have excluded them on their list as at the time of the schools resumption announcement on monday 29, June 2020 but hopefully, they should be back to school same date with the Primary 6 who are to write the Common Entrance Examination; Junior Secondary School 3 students and Senior Secondary School 3 students, followed by the regular students from other classes and levels.
