UNIPORT Matriculates Over 8,000 Students For 2020/2021 Session

The University of Port Harcourt has matriculated eight one hundred students for the 2020/2021 academic session.The number is out of the 9,531 candidates, who gained admission for the session.

Speaking during the ceremony on Friday at the University’s convocation arena, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Georgewill Owunari, advised the new students to uphold the academic and moral standards of the institution.

Professor Owunari also warned the new students to “shun all forms of social vices like cultism and drug abuse.” He also advised students to put education first before unionism.“

 

The students’ union government is there to enable you learn the rudiments of the leadership social organization and networking skills. It is not a full time business that should engage all your attention”. “It’s for peaceful advocating of students welfare therefore be guided in your union activities”, the VC advised.

 

On their part, the newly-matriculated students expressed joy and hope to work hard and graduate in flying colors after the duration of their course.
