Bayelsa State Education Commissioner Commends JAMB

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been commended for the uncommon transformations it has recorded in the education sector particularly the conduc t of its matriculation examinations and admission exercise.

Giving this commendation was the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Education, Hon.Gentle E. Emelah, when the Bayelsa State Coordinator, Mr. Muhammed Abdulsalam,paid him a courtesy visit recently.

The Commissioner, who went down memory lane, took a critical look at the state of education in the last 60 years in Nigeria and submitted that the sector had never had it so good especially with the 

series of innovations by the Board in the last couple of years that has made its assessment process a reference point for

other assessment bodies globally.He said the Board has evolved from just an Admission agency to an entity that has consciously employed technology to discharge its mandate leading to the conduct of credible matriculation examinations and admissions thereby changing the narrative as far as the general perception of public agencies is concerned.

watchword. He said the positive stories emanating from JAMB are reverberating across the globe with many nations opting for the institution of a central admission body modelled along the lines of the Board.

Earlier, the State Coordinator congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment stating that he was in his office to further strengthen the existing cordial relationship with the State Government. He thanked the State Government on the

big strides it has made in the field of education. He also expressed appreciation for the regular support the Board received

in the sensitisation of citizens about JAMB activities and the provision of an enabling environment for the expansion of the

Computer-Based Test centres in the State.
